Roadworks in Century City and Plattekloof

The City of Cape Town has commenced with roadworks along Sable Road between the N1 and Ratanga Road in Century City, as well as along Plattekloof Road on the northbound carriageway between the N1 and Gert Van Rooyen Drive in Plattekloof. The work will be carried out between 09:00 and 15:30, Sunday to Friday. Some of the work will be done at night, from 19:00 to 04:30. This road rehabilitation project is scheduled for completion by mid-June 2025, weather permitting and provided there are no unforeseen delays.

‘The project team will try their best to work around the rainy weather to ensure that we complete this important project timeously and keep Cape Town moving on good quality roads. The roadworks in Century City and Plattekloof involve milling the existing road surface and resurfacing it, replacing missing or damaged kerbs and sealing any existing cracks. Once complete, we will apply new retro-reflective road markings to improve road safety and visibility,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
To facilitate the work, partial lane closures may be in place. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternative routes where possible to minimise delays.
